Hi, The full name is "kdontchangethehostname". http://www.planetpenguin.de/manpage-1-kdontchangethehostname.1.html (You can also try running "man kdontchangethehostname", the man page was missing on my installation.) So as the page says running the command is meant to make KDE aware of the network hostname being changed (the one you see in /etc/hostname, also try man hostname). KDED (KDE Daemon, keeping track of system changes etc.) by default runs kdontchangethehostname every 5 seconds. The details are to be found in the kdelibs source code. |
