I need help configuring file sharing on a Windows XP network. I'm looking for specific instructions to address the following situation: I have a small business with four computer users and five computers: - three Windows XP Professional machines (1/employee) - one Mac OS X powerbook (1 employee) - one Windoxs XP Home Edition machine (used as a storage box to save corporate files) All of the machines are currently networked (via a Linksys wireless access point) and file sharing is enabled in such a way that all of the users can read and write files to the Windows XP Home Edition machine which is being used as a storage box. Going forward, I would like to make some of the files on the storage box available to only a sub-set of my team (e.g., sensitive files that only myself and my business partner should be able to access). I believe there is a way to use NTFS encryption to handle this situation, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Thank you for your help. All of the machines are connected to the web and to the storage box through a Linksys wireless access point / router. We use the storage box to store and share all of our corporate files. Going forward, we'd like to create folders on the storage box that only a sub-set of the team can access (e.g., we want to create an "executive" folder that includes sensitive HR-related files). Can anyone tell me how to configure the network machines to get this result? Thank you! --bg |
