Where can I access a database of historical college football results, that captures not only the score, but also a Vegas betting point spread from at or before kickoff? Other parameters: - Ideally it would capture games from 1990 to the present, but a starting point between 1995-1998 would suffice. - I am primarily interested in a small number of teams (Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, California, Louisiana State, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Miami and Florida State), so having the full list of Division 1A or lower level schools is not necessary. |

Uncletd, A challenging question indeed! Website located meeting your specific requirements (its not an ideal world so instead of from 1990 the site starts at 1992/3). See here: http://www.repole.com/sun4cast/indexframes.html Select, ?previous scores & lines? then, select ?college football regular season? then, specify year and team. Alternately select ?free stuff? then, select ?downloadable files? then, cursor to year required then, under ?college football select regular season game score and lines? download file. For information purposes the question has been asked previously (unanswered) in, question number 372809, see here: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=372809 question number 11, see here: http://www.comprank.com/faq.html & here: http://www.sharpsportsbetting.com/forums/free/other/index.cgi/noframes/read/1425 In Nevada the state legislature (via the Nevada Gaming Control Act and ancillary statues) designate the Nevada Gaming Commission and State Control Board as the overseers of the gaming industry. Sport betting, legislatively termed ?sports pool? appears in chapter 463 of the Nevada Revised Statue. See here: http://leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-463.html From the legislative roots the governing authorities have created and maintain rules under which licensed entities operate. ?Sports pools? comes under regulation 22 of the Regulations of the Nevada Gaming Commission and State Gaming Control Board. See here: http://gaming.nv.gov/stats_regs/reg22.pdf or http://gaming.nv.gov/stats_regs/reg22.doc from http://gaming.nv.gov/stats_regs.htm A listing of Vegas entities operating sports books is here (select individually for details of operation): http://www.vegas.com/gaming/sportsbooks/ For a history of sports betting see here: http://www.docsports.com/sports/betting/history/vegas/sports/betting/1.html http://www.docsports.com/sports/betting/history/vegas/sports/betting/2.html http://www.docsports.com/sports/betting/history/vegas/sports/betting/3.html http://www.docsports.com/sports/betting/history/vegas/sports/betting/4.html For a general reference of college football (without much commercial content) see here: http://homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~dwilson/rsfc/rsfc.shtml For historical results (teams in alphabetical order) see here: http://www.jhowell.net/cf/scores/byName.htm Kind regards gfmaster |
