Hi, deadplan-ga:

Are you looking for free software, or do you have a budget? XML
editors are fairly common, and many provide features like integrated
DTD or Schema validation, XSL processing, etc. Are these features of
interest, and what features do you require/desire for SGML editing?

I am looking for both free and paid ones, ya these features you have
mentioned are but necessary features, basically we right now use
epsilon editor, i want something much better than that and obviously
more features, i want some thing which can simultaniously validate +
browse, something very advanced, and please do support your answer
with some facts.

Personally I do not work with SGML. For XML I use a commercial
product, XMLSpy (professional edition), together with a basic text
editor (Textpad), Internet Explorer, and a home-spun XSLT tool (a
Windows GUI that wraps the MSSXML parser). Certainly Altova's XMLSpy
can do all the validation and browsing, but sometimes I like to be
able to work with leaner tools.

There are freeware/shareware SGML editors out there, but I have no
idea what would make one of these extra-functional. In my limited
frame of reference the applications of SGML are more akin to HTML, ie.
focus on markup and presentation, where XML is more appropriate to
back-end data/object representation. In other words for me XML/XSLT
is more of a programming medium.
