Hello,

I am looking for information on the cost of down-time for web-sites
(so not down-time of company networks).
Some specifics:
- the report should be recent, not older than 2 years old
- it must be a free report or at least cheap (< $100)
- it should written by a serious research organisation
- it would be nice if it contains distinctions for different sectors
(travel, finance, etc.)

This site might have interesting reports, but allows access only to
'corporate email accounts' (which I don't have):
http://www.info.infonetics.com/

Please let me know if you need more information.

Kind regards,
Fred

There were a number of in-depth reports on this topic back around
2000, but they seem to have become rarer as of late.

Here's a link to an article from earlier in 2004 that summarizes one recent report:

http://news.zdnet.co.uk/internet/ecommerce/0,39020372,39119120,00.htm

Is that sort of thing helpful at all, or are you looking for full
access to the report itself?

Let me know.

Dear pafalafa,

The statistics of the example you gave are based on just some
selection of websites, performed by a website monitoring company. I am
looking for more general valid numbers (worldwide, for segments like
e.g. small e-commerce sites), researched by a company that does
research, like Gartner.

Hope tat makes it a bit more clear?
If not, please let me know.

Cheers
Fred
