i am looking for the appraised or estimated value, in today's
money,(or at least in 1990s value) in u.s. dollars, of the contents
(in whole
or in part) of King Tut's (Tutankhamun's) tomb, as excavated in 1922. i
found an article saying the golden coffin was worth 6 million in 1980s
dollars, and would like to know what it is worth now. doesn't have to
be exact, but the more exact the better. am interested in the total
value of the contents, (some 5,000 catelogued pieces) or valuations that have
been placed on specific pieces. anything like "worth x in gold content
alone" is useful, but if there are any insurance estimates from when
pieces in the collection toured, that would be great too. the famous
golden coffin cover is of special interest.
