How can we configure the various 10Gbit/s transponders/repeaters to
shutoff  transmission upon detection of failure or degradation
(instead of transmitting AIS)? For example, upon detection of AIS or
LOS or LOP or LOF, etc. they would shut transmission off towards the
exit fiber.
Can we get the reference documentation? 
In addition how can we connect to an external interfcae that is
already or can be configured to provide this information (i.e. there
is SF or SD or- 'I am sending AIS now" other than the management
interfaces (i.e one that external equipment can connect to and get the
info fastly). Please provide the reference for this one as well.
