Dear bowmandj-ga

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. I
managed to find a number of ?infamous? characters that supposedly
support Kerry?s election as President of the United States. Of course,
there?s no way to know for sure who does and who doesn?t since we
can?t ask them, but there does seem to be a list a logical prospects:

This article in the Washington Post suggests that among the unsavory
characters who support John Kerry?s bid for the US Presidency include
none other than terrorists in Al Qaeda:

Spanish Socialist Jose Luis Rodriquez Zapatero, who has been widely
accused in the press of having relented to murderous terrorists, has
been quoted as lending his support:

?His name is Jose Luis Rodriquez Zapatero and he?s the newly elected
Prime Minister of Spain. He is quoted in the British Guardian saying,
?I want Kerry to win.?

This article contends that a number of previously ?unnamed leaders? support Kerry:

?Yasir Arafat (who Kerry has described as a "statesman"), Haitian thug
Aristide, Saddam Huessein, and Osama Bin-Laden probably all have
"Kerry 2004" posters in their offices, cells, and caves!?

Still another article quotes Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) as saying that
Kim Jong Il is a supporter:

?Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tex.), says Kerry is right -- rogue leaders,
including North Korea's Kim Jong Il, do support Kerry -- because he's
perceived as being less tough than President Bush has been on rogue
regimes.?

Depending on your view of who is ?infamous? and who isn?t, this
statement may also be enlightening:

?Many on his staff have made it very clear that the French and German
leaders desperately want Kerry to win, but the only two, so far, that
have been revealed are avowed anti-Semitic former Malaysian prime
minister, Mahathir Mohamad, and North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Il.?

According to this NEWSMAX article, Al-Jazeera supports the Kerry for
President movement (in spirit at least) as do other infamous people
mentioned above:

I cannot vouch for the accuracy of these sites, but there's some
interesting reading here:

The question asks "Who are John Kerry's most infamous supporters?" As
a question of fact, you could reasonably say that someone supports
Kerry if there is some credible public record of that person
expressing or demonstrating that support. Where there is no such
record, you don't have an answer to the question.

Of the supporters listed in this answer, the only ones with credible
evidence are Zapatero and Mahathir Mohammad.

The question was not "What are the opinions of Kerry's opponents as to
who would like to see him elected?" People who oppose Kerry are free
to have and express such opinions, but they hardly constitute credible
evidence of support.

The StrangeCosmos.com article from SatireNewsService quoting a Kerry
campaign spokesperson named "Ima Lyre" is particularly lacking in
factual credibility. One might as well cite "America's Finest News
Source," the Onion:

I think that every single point made by efn is absolutely right. And I
disagree with the view that "there?s no way to know for sure who does
and who doesn?t since we can?t ask them". Firstly, maybe we can ask
them, or even if that's not possible in many cases, others can: this
can be journalists, diplomats, theirs supporters, whatever.

I think it's a bit strange that the question here asked "Who are John
Kerry's most infamous supporters", but the answer was only about
?infamous? characters that supposedly support Kerry?s election as
President of the United States.

Well, since you say it's possible to poll the infamous about who they
support I'll wait here while you and efn-ga run out there and ask
them. How about that?

You hurry back and let us know what they say, will you?

The tone of some of these answers and comments, especially those of
official Google researchers, I find very disturbing.

As for whether "we" can ask them or not, the phrase was taken out of
context and made to sound absurd. Readers should also note that the
commenter also said: "if that's not possible in many cases, others
can: this can be journalists, diplomats, their supporters, whatever."

sheesh!

I hadn't noticed tutuzdad 's comment till now. I really think it's a
rude and disingenuous comment. Pointing that they *can* be asked
doesn't mean that I am able or willing to do that. I think that's
something understood by every reasonable person on this planet. So,
obviously, using such an argument to show that I was wrong issn't very
smart, is it?

Thank you for clarifying your comment after a year. My response was
not intended to be rude at all. I was merely replying to "YOUR"
statement:

"I disagree with the view that "there?s no way to know for sure who does
and who doesn?t since we can?t ask them...maybe we can ask them...".

In my answer I said there's no way to ppoll the infamous (read:
notorious people) who they support politicially. You disagreed. I was
only inviting you to do what you voluntarily suggested you "might" be
able to do in an effort to help the customer reach a solution to his
or her inquiry. That is all.
