VEHICLE FAILING SMOG TESTS

Vehicle: 1993 WV Eurovan
Problem: Repeatedly fails smog test due to very excessive levels of CO
Mileage: 93,200 miles
Maintenance record: excellent
Performance on road: excellent, no apparent problems
Confidence in repair shop mechanic: very good - he's also stumped

Part replacements to date:
1. Catalytic converter
2. Evaporator purge valve
3. Oxygen sensor
4. Fuel injection temperature sensor
5. Fuel pressure regulator

Additional test: Engine Control Module (ECM) didn't respond when
connecting vacuum pump to fuel line. Replacing this will cost well
over $1000.

What else should be investigated to get vehicle to pass smog test?

Take car to dealership and stop spending money to "try" and find problem.
