waburodrig-ga:

I noticed that you have posted this question twice (ie. as two
separate questions) using two separate categories. Is it your intent
to obtain two, separate Answers from researchers, or was one of the
postings an error? If so, I would recommend that you close one of the
questions to eliminate the possibility of receiving two separate
Answers that each cost you $115.

As well, you mentioned that you would prefer a well-qualified
Researcher to work on your question; may I ask what sort of
qualifications you are looking for?

Thank you,

aht-ga

Correct. The question was posted twice in order to receive two separate
answers.

In reference to "Well qualified researcher", what was intended is that the
researcher must be a professional and provide precise data.

I allow space for human error and limited data, this is not a critical project,
yet I wish for a researcher to not just spit information out without backup.

Thank you

Dear Waburodrig,

Regarding Canada - most lists that I found list no more than 6 banks
as "the largest" in Canada. I managed to scape another list and to
compile a list of the top 9 banks in Canada (based on assets), but no
luck with 15 banks. In general, Canada has 14 domestic banks and the
rest are either foreign bank subsidiaries or foreign bank branches
operating in Canada (latest official information, 2002: Canada's
Banks, Updated Version (August 2002), Dept. of Finance information,
<http://www.fin.gc.ca/toce/2002/bank_e.html>).

Please inform me if you'll be willing to settle for a list (2004) of
the largest Candian banks, which I compiled (based on assets) and
contains 9 banks; or for the official Dept. of Finance list (2002),
containing 6 banks.

Sorry, I meant "scrape" (details).

Naturally, you can also decide that you prefer to have 15 banks, and
perhaps one of my colleagues will be able to provide you with that
list.

Hello aht-ga,

Thank you for answering my question. The 2004 list that contacts 9
banks would be more than enough.

Thank you once more.

=====
Because of mergers, there are not so many players as you?ve asked:
Credit Agricole and PNB are both two of the largest banks of the
world, and the swallowed much of the surroundings. The last banks in
the list, thus, are only ?realitvely? large ? but in fact specialise
in mortgage, post, etc. Another interesting point is that most banks,
including the large ones, do not have an English language site.

further clarifications on this answer before you rate it. When the
source is not mention, variety of sources have been used, mostly
through this search strategy:
?largest bank?, or ?largest banks? (and similar terms) and [name of
country] as well as the term ?number of clients?. I also used general
banking search terms, such as ?top 100 banks?. These two might be of
interest in that context:
