I go to court Monday in California for an OTC hearing I filed. My wife
is divorcing me (I?m disabled & she is tired of supporting me). She
has representation & I can't afford it (I am on S.S. disability & the
child has a stipend I receive since she is special needs; adopted by
us). I have learned the judge must order a mediation hearing since a
minor child is involved & I am asking for sole custody. He will most
likely disregard the request for temporary spousal support since the
child custody hearing has yet to be held & spousal support amounts
depend on child support money ordered. Because of my need & knowing
child support is a long way off I want to ask him to consider my
request for some amount of temporary support. I need the money for
basics. I don?t even know when or how it is proper for me to get his
attention or ask.
