Hi penguin21!! The box of the question has the shape of a rectangular prism, and in this case the rectangular base is a square. The formula of the volume of a rectangular prism is: V = Length of base * Width of base * Height Because the base is a square: Length of base = Width of base = X and Height = 2 * X Then: V = Length of base * Width of base * Height = = X * X * 2X = = 2 * X^3 The algebraic formula for the Volume V of a box with a square base of side X and height 2X is: 3 V = 2 * X I hope that this helps you. Feel free to request for any clarification if it is needed. Regards. livioflores-ga |

Hint: Find the area of the base (it's a square!), then multiply by height to get the volume. regards, mathtalk-ga |
