My laptop has been infected with trojan horse Downloader.Easto.B-- AVG antivirus software detected it but could not remove it or even move it to the Virus Vault. I have purchased several different programs to try to remove it with no success. I need information on how to get rid of it. | |

Hi, thanks for posting on Google. This is an unfortunate thing that happens, making people pull their hair out, driving them crazy for hours upon hours only to give up. Here is my solution, I hope this will work. If you don't already have Spybot installed, install it. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html First do a scan with AVG and find where the file is, and make a note of it somewhere. Now on the Spybot menu click Mode and then check Advanced Mode. On the left hand side click Tools and then Secure Shredder. Right click on the big white area and press "Add file(s) to program list", then find the file causing you to go bald and CHOP IT AWAY. After you chop it do another scan with avg, and repeat the process. Also thing to try: HouseCall Online Virus Scanner http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ Hijackthis http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html Also booting into safe mode, and then running AVG to try to delete or move the virus to the virus fault. I hope this helps. |

TRY TO FIND WHAT ITS CALLED (INFECTED FILE) THEN GO TO SEARCH AND TRY TO FIND THAT FILE. DO NOT DELETE IT BECOUSE IT COULD MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER SO JUST CHANGE THE ENDING TO SOMTHIN LIKE UNKNOWN EG. ABC.EXE IS INFECTED CHANGE ABC.EXE TO ABC.UNKNOWN (OR WHATEVER YOU WANT (NOTHING THAT EXISTS LIKE EXE OR TXT)) AND IF IT MESSES YOUR COMPUTER IN SOME WAY YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE IT BACK TO .EXE (BUT VIRUS WILL BE STIL THERE) IF YOU CANT CHANGE THE FILE YOU IT SAYS IT IS BEING USED BY SOME ONE OR A PROGRAM JUST CTRL+ALT+DEL AND THEN THE PROCESSES AND TURN IT OFF BUT BE CARFULL TRY NOT TO TURN OFF THE WRONG ONE IT COULD MESS COMPUTER UP ALSO TRY TO MAKE IT NOT TO START UP IN WINDOWS YOU HAVE TO START RUN THEN TYPE MSCONFIG AND GO TO THE TAB START UP (ONLY CHECK OFF THE ONES YOU WANT AKA AVG MSNMSGR OR AIM) I HOPE THIS HELPS. |
