Thank you for your question. I took an interest in your question
because I raised a Giant Green Ig who grew to 6 feet long! I love
herps. :)
What you'll need to do is find a background you like and buy it by the
foot left to right. That's not a problem because that's how they are
generally sold. However, the height from the bottom of your tank to
the top you'll need to place 2 or more backdrops on top of the first
layer to create a backdrop that displays from top to bottom.
What I eventually ended up doing is building an iguana condo out of
wood and glass with basking shelves, and all the requirements for heat
and proper lighting. For the bottom I used flat astroturf with the
heating elements hidden under the turf. This structure took up every
inch of a full dining room! The light came from above using 4 large
tubes over a metal grate top. Zeus was a very happy herp! Everynight
I covered him with his blanket while he dozed on a shelf! :)
At any rate, for now - while your ig(s) are in a vivarium the
background or backdrop will work nicely.
Regarding the backgrounds, obviously most are for fish and have water
scenes, however I have provided links and information appropriate for
your iguana.
