I have an old Garmin 195 GPS with its original map database. How do I update it with a new map database? I'm a pilot and need to have the approaches updated. | |

The actual databse update is provided through the Jeppesen Aviation Database Update web page - http://shop.garmin.com/aviation/databases/ . You need the software update from the previous answer. Your GPS should show you the appropriate revision when you boot. Follow the instructions on the page I gave you above and you should be golden! Also - you need the PC interface cable, if you don't already have it. http://shop.garmin.com/accessories_for_product.jsp?sku=010-00083-00 Happy flying! Curt |

Curt, Thanks for the comment, I'd call this question answered. I've ordered the cable and should be flying with an updated database this weekend! Cheers! |
