What is the ethnic background of President George W. Bush, for example
is he half German, quarter Irish, quarter Greek or what?

I have found research going back 6 generations, originating in Ohio in
the early 1800's.  There are reports of Bush being related to the
Spencer family of England as well as being a distant cousin of John
Kerry.  From seeing some of the names in his ancestry (Flickinger) I
would guess Germanic roots, but nothing I have found up to this point
gives definites.  I am sure it is out there, but I don't think the
fractions you are looking for are going to be there since he is a 6th
generation American.

Going further back in the source given by tlspiegel, you'll see that
he has at least some German and French ancestry.  (So it's possible
that George W. Bush is more "French" than John Kerry was rumored to
be!  Nothing wrong with that, in my view.)
