For those of you familiar with Outlook Express and hotmail, There is a seperate account for each hotmail account complete with folders, sent mail box etc. Now as some of you know Microsoft has started charging to use their hotmail accounts in Outlook express and I don't want to pay a ridiculous sum just for this functionality. So what I would like to know is how do I implement a system where I can have this functionality but not have to rely on http hotmail accounts? I've looked at Pop3 accounts for gmail with email2pop, but it's incredibly slow, and it doesn't give me the functionality of a hotmail account. I've also tried hotmailpopper etc. but again it only creates an account in my local folders - I want a completely seperate account showing up - like how a hotmail account shows up. Now I'll be using 5-6 email addresses at any given time with some turnover, and this is why it's cost prohibitive to keep paying for new email accounts. Also I'm open to using a different client that Outlook Express, if there's something out there that has this type of functionality. So bottom line what I want is a program or instructions on how to set up 5 email accounts that: 1) are quick to download/upload 2) are free (although I would be willing to pay for a program but not the email accts 3) Have seperate sections accounts within the email program(not just a seperate folder that everything is downloaded to) I don't see this question being too difficult for those of you that know you're way around email, pop3, smtp, and email clients -- but I am still willing to give you a big fat tip if your solution is what I'm asking for. Thanks, Collin |

You could go to www.portland.co.uk, register for a free sub-domain, then setup/use/delete e-mail accounts for that sub-domain at your leisure. With regards to the speed issue, free and fast are not usually found in the same package. However, with email, which is mostly text-based, speed should not be an issue unless you are receiving a huge (& I mean Huge!) volume, or you are receiving "Heavy" mail, laden with attachments. Best of Luck, Wiz |

You need a web, Collin. 1. Go get a domain name from www.ev1servers.net (the cheapest I've found so far). 2. Go to www.icanahost.com and have that new domain hosted. 3. You can create unlimited email accounts. 4. In OE, all you need to do is create new identities (not accounts!) and then create each POP3 account under the identity. To create a new identity, just hit File-->Identities-->Add new identity. You will then have payed about $27/year for unlimited email accounts with no maximum file size, and you'll get a website too. Since you were willing to pay $13 for the question, I assume (and hope) the answer is not as cost-prohibitive as you believed. :) If you need more help carrying this out, let me know. Oh! And no advertisements or anybody giving away your email accounts but you! I GIVE AWAY free email accounts to the members of our website at www.vbaexpress.com 'cause I get unlimited email accounts. Now that hosting costs me a bit more, but I also own webs through icanahost, and plan to move VBA Express as soon as the hosting plan expires... |

By the way... If you do that, Collin, I will, if necessary, take screenshots of every single step you need to take after you buy the domain and hosting. It's ridiculous how these hotmails and yahoos shove advertising down your throat and it makes me mad that these simple steps aren't done. Do NOT be afraid!! It's too easy! |
