I can find only one inmate by that name currenlty in the federal
prison system, but not in Colorado. There are no prisoners that I can
find with the particular number you provided.

Are you quite sure of your information?

This is the exact address I was given for this inmate: Lonnie Davis
                                                       08805-092
                                                       USP
                                                       Florence
                                                       P.O. Box 7000
                                                       Florence, Colorado
                                                       81226

My reason for requesting this information is because the person who is
the legal guardian of my minor grandchildren has been corresponding
with and visiting this inmate. I was informed that he is a sexual
offender (convicted for child pornography ). Today I was told that he
was convicted of murder. I have no verification of any of this info.
Can you tell me how I can get the actual facts. This person has
informed me that she plans to move my grandchildren to Colorado. I am
sure you can see why I do not want this to happen if indeed he is a
sexual offender. Thank you for any help you can give me.

jeannie1025-ga,

I'm sorry to hear about your difficult situation, and I certainly hope
it resolves itself for the best.

As I mentioned earlier, I could find no information for current
prisoners that matches the desciption you provided. Perhaps the
suggestion in the Comments, below, is your best first step -- give the
prison a call, and see what they can tell you. There are probably
social services in the town where your grandchildren live who may be
able to offer advice, as well.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you...and all the best.

Wanted to thank everyone for your comments and advice. I took your
advice and called the prison and they told me without any questions
that he was sentenced for possession of child pornography. He received
a 60 month sentence and his release date as of now is May of 2007.
My son ( age 43 ) passed away 2 days before Christmas last year
leaving 2 minor children and one 18 yr.old. His ex-wife ( 2 of the
children's stepmother ) is their legal guardian. Like I said she has
been taking these children to see this man and plans to move to
Colorado and marry him . I won't say what I think of her. I will
definately be taking your advice again and calling social services and
children's services and anyone else here in my state who can help me
to keep this from happening.
AGAIN I THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE AND COMMENTS.

GOD BLESS!!!

Why not just call the institution? They may not tell you why and for
how long, but they will confirm whether or not he is incarcerated.

I "can" tell you this much...USP Florence is a mximum security prison
(or "SUPER MAX" as these are sometimes called) designed to prevent
even MINIMAL physical human contact between the inmates and EVERYONE
else, including other inmates! A person being held there is BAD - VERY
bad.

Having said that, it shouldn't matter what they are there FOR, but the
fact that they are (or were) there AT ALL that would concern me. But
that's just my opinion.
