Hi There, I'm looking for a way to configure Windows Server 2003 to
automatically block users from saving / coping files to the server
based on a file criteria (type, extension, filesize, date, etc). If
configuration is not an option, a tool or a utility or a service
running in the background that can be purchased will be accepted as a
valid answer (as long as you provide URL).

Problem:
In a creative environment where assets are often transfered via FTP or
CDs often come in the form of ZIP or RAR archives. Users are lazy and
tend to copy the zip on the file server, but they should be
un-archiving it and organizing the files into folders. I'd like to
force users to unarchive .ZIP or .RAR files prior to coping them to
the server by NOT allowing ZIPs to be saved on the server. This will
also not allow lazy users from rightlicing on a filder and creating a
zip, emailing it, and then forgetting to delete the zip from the
server.

Ideally I'd be able to specify file types / extenstions, maximum file
size that can be stored per folder, date and other atributes are less
important but would be nice

Hi

I'm not aware of how to do this within Windows 2003 natively, but you
may want to check out NTP Softwares Quota & File Sentinal product.

This appears to cover your requirement.
