Question ID: 416889
after highlighting and copying text or an image, if i open Word or
Netscape mail, the clipboard gets cleaned before i can paste the data.
in order to cut and psate like i want, i have to open Word or
Netscape first and formally save the image onto the drive and then
"attach" it rether than just pasting it.
is this a software "switch" in the wrong default - either in my
regedit, Word and/or Netscape??

What happens if you open both of them first, then cut and paste?

first, thanks guys, for the quick responses.

response to mathtalk-qa: if MS Word and "drudgereport.com" are both
open and i highlight an image and some text from "drudge", then ^C,
then goto Word, then ^V; i don't get the images or text dumped
immediately, i get the statement "word is retrieving data from
nnnnn.com" and the process begins. this takes a minute or longer.
why does it have to go back to the source - why isn't the stuff
already in the clipboard, and why does this take so long anyway?

response to dreamboat-ga:

We really need more information. What version? Have you tried running
Detect and Repair or other troubleshooting methods in the
applications? You *should* definitely have this capability. No switch
to my knowledge.
