We are looking for primary, contemporary sources (diaries, newspapers,
letters) that would describe how Americans worshipped businessmen in
the 1920s, specifically, but not limited to, Henry Ford.
One quote we have found, though we cannot locate its source, is
attributed to a British traveler who said: "Just as in Rome one goes
to the Vatican and endevours to get audience of the Pope, so in
Detroit one goes to the Ford Works and endevours to see Henry Ford."
We would like examples such as this, though not limited to this quote.
Thanks,
