I'm making this cheap because I can give almost no detail. The book
may or may not be a children's book. I started reading more adult
level books early. The only thing I remember is this: the
protagonist(s) had to go through a maze/labyrinth. This maze was
actually created from the fingerprint of a bad person, possibly a
witch. No, it is NOT the movie Labyrinth, although if you want to see
David Bowie in spandex that's your movie. There may or may not have
been magic crystal balls/snowglobes. Could I make this any vaguer? I
hope someone can help me. :-)

Hi Danegurl,

I believe the book you are looking for is called, "The Hounds of the
Morrigan", by Pat O'Shea.

In the review that I read, from School Library Journal, they mention
this, "In one terrific touch, their fingerprint, suspended in air,
becomes elsewhere a maze to entrap the children."

You can read a few other reviews as well as the one by School Library Journal here:

I hope this helps,
Krimson

P.S. -- Labrynth is only second to The Princess Bride in my house ;)
