I want to find out if there is a law in California that says that if
you pay for a denture, that it actually has to fit. Dentist is tired
of me returning again and again, told me to be satisfied with ill fit.
Dentist chosen from insurance's approved list but found though he has
a valid
license, he is not a member of Amer Dental Assn, Calif Dental Assn nor
local Dental Society so not subject to peer review nor code of ethics.
I have made many unsuccessful searches of Calif Code in Business &
Professions, Health & Safety and Corporations. Does any such law
exist?

IS THERE ANY RECOURSE IN CALIFORNIA FOR SOMEONE WHO BUYS A DENTURE
THAT DOESN'T FIT?
I WAS ACTUALLY REFUNDED MY MONEY BECAUSE I FOUND DDS SUBSTITUTED AN
INFERIOR PRODUCT FOR INSURANCE PLAN-APPROVED DENTURE (GAVE ME RESIN-
INSTEAD OF METAL-BASE)SO DON'T NEED ANSWER TO CHASE DDS - JUST
WONDERING ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE OR THE NEXT TIME...

When I was going back to my dentist every few weeks to get my partials
"trimmed to fit" he offered to re-do them from scratch with the cost
to me being whatever the lab charged him (say $400 as opposed to
$1,000). But, we eventually got these to fit after I figured out
exactly where it rubbed and I just kept telling him to take more off.
Finally we took enough off and they are fine. Don't be satisfied with
an ill fit. There is always small claims court.

I'm not a lawyer, but presumably if you pay for a product, and it is
faulty, your money should be refunded or the provider should give you
a new one.
