I need detailed biographies of the *parents* (either or both) of great people, particularly where these parents influenced the child in a significant way. I have listed famous people whose parents I am interested in, but I am also open to great people I have missed, whose parents were a notable influence. I will accept links to books on Amazon (or wherever), or essays online. They need to be quite comprehensive (ie over 10,000 words or so). What I am really looking for is how they influenced their children. Mozart Churchill Marie Curie Einstein Bill Gates Columbus Shakespeare Aristotle/Plato/Socrates Newton Caesar Van Gogh Beethoven Da Vinci Napoleon Henry Dunant Alexander Hitler Freud Indira Ghandi Moses Cain Hamlet |

Hi, What a question this is! Thanks for posting SUCH a challenging question, macaonghus-ga. I'm gonna post links to biographies (in print and online) of parents of famous & great people over several comments, beginning with Jawaharlal Nehru (father of Indira Gandhi), Leopold Mozart (father of Mozart) and Lord & Lady Randolph Churchill (father and mother of Winston Churchill). More biographies of parents of great people coming up in subsequent posts. ************************** Jawaharlal Nehru (father of Indira Gandhi) Nehru: A Biography by Shashi Tharoor http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/155970697X/002-3110829-6904855?v=glance Biography of Jawaharlal Nehru http://www.bookrags.com/biography/jawaharlal-nehru/ Nehru & Democracy: The Political Thought of an Asian Democrat http://www.questia.com/PM.qst?a=o&d=14122482 Nehru: A Political Life by Judith M.
