There are 48 copies of the Gutenberg Bible surviving, almost all in Europe or the USA. The German Gutenberg website has a list of their locations, along with information on paper, parchment and volumes. I can't reproduce the list here for copyright reasons, but just click on this link for the information you want: http://www.gutenberg.de/english/bibel.htm This next list of locations has web addresses for many of the libraries holding copies: http://www.gutenbergbible.net/locations.html By the way, the British Library now offers the chance to look at their two Gutenberg Bibles online: http://prodigi.bl.uk/treasures/gutenberg/search.asp I hope this tells you everything you need to know, but if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to ask. Just use the "clarification request" feature. Best Wishes - Leli search: gutenberg bibles ://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=gutenberg+bibles&btnG=Search&meta= |
