Thanks for your question regarding one of my favorite television
shows. Chris isn't blood related to Tony, but rather to Carmela.
Carmela's aunt, Lena, married Joseph Moltisanti. Lena and Joseph had
a son, Richard (also known as Dickie), who is Carmela's cousin. You
often here Chris and Tony referring to Dickie as he was killed in a
shooting in a pizza place. Dickie was a sort of mentor to Tony.
Dickie married Joanne Blundetto and they had a son, Christopher. So,
technically, while Tony refers to Chris as his nephew, it is more
through respect and honor to Chris' father than by blood, though the
relation to Carmela is there.
Again, thanks for your question and if you need any additional
clarification, please let me know.
Regards,
