<Residential home insulation market.
According to Freedonia, in 2003, insulation demand was $6 billion. The
market for residential insulation accounts for 43% or $2.58 billion.
Growth will come from greater use per structure and upgrading of
insulation for existing buildings. Demand for residential insulation
will be constrained due to a fall in the number of single-family
housing starts. The South is the largest regional market, accounting
for over 35% of demand. Greater demand for radiant barriers is
predicted, particularly in the South.

Trends.
According to the Freedonia Group, demand for fibreglass insulation is
robust. Fiberglass in being more intensively used in new housing
units, driven by an increasing desire for energy efficiency and sound
transmission reduction. U.S housing construction over the next 10
years is likely to exceed that of the the last 10. (4. The State of

Over the last two years, the number of insulation contractors
reporting dollar volume increases has plummeted more than 20%, and the
healthy home building market hasn't seemed to help. Pressure has come
