I would like to know how the following schools determine the need for
financial aid:

University of Chicago
University of Illinois
Villanova University

Specifically, do they use the federal or institutional method? What
percentage of parental assets and income do they use in the
calculation of need vs. that of the potential student? What amount of
financial aid to they have available? When should a parent begin to
apply for financial aid? Are qualified accounts of the parents
(401(k)s) part of the determination of financial aid for the child?
Are there any school specific fin. aid progroms available? (work
study, scholarships, etc.)
