Lathes or engine lathes are built by many companies including the R.K.
LeBlond machine tool company of Cincinnati, OH. Other names for this
machine are "metal lathe" and screw cutting lathe. LeBlond was in
business through most of the 20th century (1900s). Typical lathes are
described by the maximum diameter of workpiece X maximum length of
workpiece that can be mounted between centers. Example is LeBlond 14
x 40 lathe or LeBlond Regal 15 x 48. These sizes changed over the
years with one series having even number diameters (14, 16 & 18) and a
later series that had odd numbers (13, 15 & 17).
What i need is a chonology of what sizes where offered during what
years (1950 and forward required), names (such as Regal) and
configuration options. The winning answer needs to be official and
reliable information; not just someone's recollection. LeBlond or
Makino or other company website might yield this info. Possibly some
museum in Cincinnati might also know the story.
$15. guaranteed tip for finding a web site with archived sales
brochures of the later (odd diameter) series.

This sight may not be conclusive, but I've gone over it before
concerning an old Clausing, and it was very informative on history and
stuff, and may be worth a look to you.
Cheers

Hi: www.lathes.co.uk seems to have the early history of LeBlond
lathes but stops prior to WWII. I am looking for post war and
especially 1970s and 1980s info. I need to know the range of years
that various sizes (15 inch Regals, etc.) were built.
A second way to answer the question is posted in a separate question.
