I realize that you are unable to provide a diagnosis, however, I would
like information and resources to help with my problems. I do have a
primary care physician and health insurance, but he works within a
major clinic and often doesn't have the time available to help with
all my concerns and it is very difficult to get an appointment and you
need a referral to see a specialist.
Onto the problems. Since a child, I've had asthma, eczema, and
allergies. The eczema was VERY severe until I became a teenager, and
it is now, for the most part gone. The asthma hospitalized me twice
as a child, and when I was 19 (I'm now 22), I went into a respiratory
arrest due to an anaphylactic reaction. I am on prophylactic meds for
my asthma (flovent), but still take albuterol as necessary. My asthma
still tends to be pretty bad. My allergies used to be food related
for the most part (and medicines). I never really had sinus allergies
or anything of the sort.
When I was a junior in high school, my mother for some reason bought
two dogs, and they were kept indoors. Since then, I've had bad sinus
problems. I had surgery on my sinuses when I was 18. They said my
sinuses were extremely bad and I forget which sinus it was, but it's
close to the brain and the doctor said it could spread (the
infection). Antibiotics didn't help. I also had polyps and a
deviated septum. After the surgery, it was better, but I wasn't that
great with the post-op care (I was young).
Now, my sinus problems have gotten much worse. I have headaches
nearly everyday. In the past year, I've gotten sick with pneumonia,
bronchitis, and have been to urgent care several other times.
On top of my sinus problems, I am constantly tired. I never have any
energy. I randomly develop a white spot on the back of my throat,
which tested negative for strep. I have been tested twice for mono.
One time, it was because I had extremely swollen lymph nodes (not
large enough to be biopsied for lymphoma or anything). They were
behind my ears, on my neck and mostly in that area. I was getting
really bad pain in random parts of my body. One day it would be my
shoulder, then it would be my joints in my arm or my legs.
I don't really sleep well (never have). Other medications that I'm on
are Zoloft, Klonopin (as needed, I don't take it often), birth
control. I am a 22 year old female, of average weight. My eating
habits are awful.
I think I've given all the information I can. Basically I want not a
diganosis, but helpful links to point me in the direction of a
diagnosis or information that I could bring to my doctor instead of
going in with general complaints. |
