Hi bigben1,

The information found on the website mention in my comment is up to
date. Using Google Advanced search, I entered the keywords "Palau
passport holders do not need a visa to travel" as found on the
website. I then selected 'Return web pages updated in the past 3
months'. The result was the website I posted.

Here's some information on The Compact of Free Association:

"The Compact of Free Association defines the relationship that three
sovereign states?the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of
the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau?have entered into as
Associated States with the United States.

Now sovereign nations, the three freely associated states were
formerly part of a United Nations trusteeship administered by the
United States Department of the Interior Office of Insular Affairs.

Under these free-association compacts, the United States provides
guaranteed financial assistance over a 15-year period in exchange for
certain defense rights. The U.S. also treats these nations uniquely by
giving them access to many U.S. domestic programs. The freely
associated states are all dependent on U.S. financial assistance to
meet both government operational and capital needs..."

The answer was good. Even though the question's price was low the
researcher was considerate to check with me if the answer was correct
or I needed anything else. Very good!

Hi bigben1,

Apparently the Republic of Palau issues its own passport. Below are
excerpts which verify this:

"...Additionally, concern is expressed that children in inter-country
adoptions are generally not eligible for a Palauan passport; and may
not own or inherit land or benefit from health, education and social
service subsidies..."

http://wwwserver.law.wits.ac.za/humanrts/crc/palau2001.html

"...Republic of the Marshall Islands and Palau passport holders do not
need a visa to travel to the United Kingdom if their visit is for less
than 6 months. For visits over 6 months, visas are required..."

Here is the application for a Palauan passport:
http://palauembassy.com/pdf/renewpas.pdf

Notice where it states:
Have you ever been issued or included in a Republic of Palau Passport?

U.S. Employment of Citizens of the Freely Associated States

If this is sufficient proof that the Republic of Palau issues its own
passport, let me know and I will post this as an official answer.

Best regards,
Rainbow

Thank you Rainbow. It is sufficient if these references like this one
are less than 2-3 years old.

"...Republic of the Marshall Islands and Palau passport holders do not
need a visa to travel to the United Kingdom if their visit is for less
than 6 months. For visits over 6 months, visas are required..."
