Hi,

I need to know about the changes in leisure and entertainment that
occured in the 19th century, who these changes affected, and how these
changes contributed to the nature, subject matter, and interpretation
of Modern visual material culture.

The sources of information should be highly reliable.

Thanks!!

Hi smkied-ga,
Can you list some examples of Leisure and Entertainment in the 20th century?
Also, are you looking for both Legal and Illegal forms of Leisure and
Entertainment in the 19th century?
Thank you.

In the 20th (and 21st - Now) centrury leisure is things like hanging
out with friends at the bar, going to play sports, viewing sports
events, recretaional activities, going to the theatre, watching
movies, attending performances, concerts, music festivals, etc. etc.
etc.

I'm not sure what went on in the 19th century, but judging by the art
it was very different.

As far as legal vs. illegal, it doesn't really matter as long as it
can be shown that these activities contributed to the nature, subject
matter, and interpretation of Modern visual material culture.

I will obvioisly need more than one form of leisure and
entertainment... the more the better (and some sort of direct
comparisons between then and now would be terrific).
