I have some original drawings by an artist Adolph Hummel. These are
dated 1911 and 1912. I believe that these are the works of the father
of M.J. Hummel, the originator of the Hummel line of porcelain
figures.  Can you direct me to a source of information that can verify
the artist Adolph Hummel? I have already used your search engine
without reults or good leads.

Dear otcbob,

Are you sure about the spelling? Berta (Maria Innocentia) Hummel's
father was spelled "Adolf". It is true that this Adolf Hummel did have
artistic ambitions as a young man, but had to take over the family
business and later encouraged his daughter in developing her artistic
skills. However, I doubt that he would have misspelled his own name.
If you can confirm that the spelling on the drawings is indeed
"Adolph", it might be a different artist; I could try to find
information by doing library research.

The artist was Adolf (not Adolph.)
