I'm looking for charities to make a donation to. I'm interested in the
fight against AIDS. There are a ton of groups out there that deal with
AIDS in some way, but I've got some very specific requirements, and
I'm having trouble finding something that meets my criteria...

What I want:
A charity where a large percentage of the groups funds are spent on
efforts to prevent AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa by either of the
following methods:
1) Providing condoms to sex workers (prostitutes) and treating them
for other, minor STDs which make it easier for them to get AIDS.
2) Protecting the blood supply against infected blood donors.

Why am I being so specific? Well, I did some research, and it looks
like these are the most effective ways of stopping the spread of AIDS.
I want sub-saharan africa because that's where AIDS is causing the
most damage.

Things which are ok, but not especially interesting:
1) AIDS education.
2) AIDS prevention among the general population, not just prostitutes.

Things I'm definitely not interested in:
1) Helping people who already have AIDS.
2) Helping AIDS orphans.
3) Any locations of sub-Saharan Africa.

Distribution of female condoms is a promising approach in sub-Saharan

I'm South African, so I will not be able to give you information on
much of the rest of sub-Saharan Africa, but I do have some info on
South Africa.

Check out http://www.sweat.org.za

SWEAT is the the first and only sex workers' union in South Africa.
They might be able to help you with information on other Sub-Saharan
countries.
 
I know that South Africa's blood supply is some of the safest in the
world, although the rest of Africa is probably dodgy. Check out the
South African National Blood Services website out,  they might be able
to direct you to other transfusion services in sub-Saharan Africa
