Hello chuntsui, there are several ways to produce a tapered pipe
thread. You can use a formed single point insert on a lathe, a thread
mill, thread rolling tools, or thread dies. I assume you are wanting
to put in a production pipe threading line. For this application you
will want threading dies and associated equipment. Here is contact
information for several companies that manufacture equipment that you
will need:

From my "Machinery Handbook" a 4 inch American National Standard pipe
thread has 8 threads per inch.
All of the companies I listed are for new equipment. However, there of
course are many suppliers of used equipment.
Hope this information is helpful to you, Redhoss |
