Would it be possible to get a few recent news articles relating to
Online B2B marketplaces in India

Hello again chilebean-ga,
.
hmm...I've looked and looked but recent news articles (2002) on Indian
b2b operations are quite scarce on the ground. Must not be interesting
news globally. The American internet news gets a high profile of
course.
.
However I have found a few, but may be of limited value:
.
Satyam Webexchange launches ExportsWebex.com
Indian exporters can now connect to the Meet World Trade global
trading network.
http://www.sifycorp.com/press/presscontent.asp?pressid=101
.
E-commerce in India
http://www.iiitb.ac.in/ThinkTank/ThinkTank_Ecom.htm
"In India, the lion’s share of current e-commerce revenues are
generated from an ever-expanding 'business to consumer' (B2C) rather
than 'business to business'(B2B) market. As in the United States, B2C
transactions have taken the form of on-line purchases of music, books,
discounted airline tickets, and educational resources. The B2B market
is expected to increase following greater investment in the Indian
telecommunications infrastructure, and once companies' concerns with
intellectual property rights and legal protections for commerce ovrt
the net are addressed. "
.
Which perhaps explains the lack of news articles on the B2B sector.
Also internet infrastructure and penetration is not that high.
"India has 1000 million people and 180 million households. India has
less than 35 million telephones and two million internet connections."
Dr Ashok Jhunjhunwala, TeNet group, IIT Madras from "Access
Technologies for India.

.
Here is another source of B2B sites from rediff
http://search.rediff.com/dirsrch/default.asp?MT=b2b
.
http://search.rediff.com/dirsrch/default.asp?MT=b2b&cp=51&cg=0&act.next.x=13&act.next.y=5&start=10
.
http://search.rediff.com/dirsrch/default.asp?MT=b2b&cp=51&cg=0&act.next.x=8&act.next.y=6&start=20
.
Search strategy:
,
://www.google.com/search?q=indian+b2b+ecommerce+report&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&start=10&sa=N
.
http://search.rediff.com/dirsrch/default.asp?MT=b2b&cp=51&cg=0&act.next.x=10&act.next.y=5&start=30
,
I hope that helps out a bit, though admittedly not the news you were
after.
.
kind regards
