It might help if you were to tell us what error you were getting. Is it a 404 error? (can't find it?) 403 Forbidden? etc etc. Can you go to both computers and bring up a command prompt and try to use the ping utility (type "ping www.sanchezartcenter.org") Do both ip addresses (the numeric value that is shown?) Have you played with your hosts files? Were you ever able to get to the site from the other computer? Have you changed anything recently on the bad computer? Are both computers (the one that works and the one that doesn't) both on the same network? Subnet? |

Are all the computers you have tried using the same ISP and the same proxy server? Sometimes one proxy server can get blocked ... |

Another thing to try is checking the hosts file on the computer that cannot access that website. I don't know how that site would have gotten in the hosts file, but it's something to consider. In case you are unfamiliar with hosts files: http://accs-net.com/hosts/what_is_hosts.html In Windows 9x and ME this file is at "C:\Windows\hosts" For NT, Win2K and XP it is found at "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" or "C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" It is a file without an extension that can be opened with Notepad or any other simple text editor. I would take a look at that file and make sure sanchezartcenter.org doesn't show up anywhere in there. If sanchezartcenter.org appears in the hosts file, delete that line or put a # in front of that line in the file and save it (again without an extension). If you save it as a .txt file it won't work. Again, this probably isn't the problem but it's worth taking a look at if everything else doesn't work. Of course, as vballguy-ga said, it would be a lot easier to diagnose if you gave us the exact error message text. |

So it was in your hosts file?! Wow that's odd. Ok when you fixed it and saved the hosts file, did you make sure it was saved without the extension? If you go back to the directory where you found it, does the "hosts" file have a .txt extension on it? If you correctly removed all occurrances of "sanchezartcenter.org" from that file and saved it again without an extension, then you should get the same error message by typing http://www.sanchezartcenter.org in your browswer as when you type http://63.99.224.72 Ok now lets look at the fact that you get a 403.6 error message when you use the IP address. I'm no expert on web server errors, but I'll do my best to help you out with this. HTTP 403.6 - Forbidden: IP address rejected This error is caused when the server has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the site, and the IP address you are using is in this list. That means that either your internet service provider is blocking that IP address for some reason, or you are using a proxy and that proxy is blocking the IP address. Do you have access to a laptop or someone elses computer that you can test that website from your location? That will rule out a problem with your individual computer. Also are you using a proxy to connect to the internet? If you aren't using a proxy server, then contact your ISP and ask them why they are blocking that IP address. |

Ok as I said, I'm not very good at web server error messages. I just tried that IP address and got the same error you did. I'm pretty sure if you go back and fix that hosts file problem and make sure it's saved without an extension, your problem will be solved. Make sure after you fix it and save it, that you close all browswer windows (and maybe clear your recent history and cache) before you try again. Good luck and let us know how things go. |

Glad you fixed the problem! The hosts file can be very handy for eliminating banner ads and several other internet annoyances, but it can also cause problems if a website changes its ip address and it's in your hosts file. |
