We have a web site with a shopping cart our own processor that also
connects to PayPal processing should the customer prefer that
processor. for example our processor only handles two CC, PayPal many
+ e cheque. Therefore two processors. Operates in the standard
fashion, input information, choose processor, enter payment method.
There are some difficulties with transfering information once input,
into PayPal they do not allow this transfer and require the customer
to input their information again. Plus other difficulties. One
solution to this has been put forward as follows. Two shopping carts.
Operates as follows, Now they first choose a processor, our own secure
or PayPal this choice opens that cart the rest then is simply
following that processor's instructions. Yes it is duplication, two
shopping carts but I think it is much simpler for the customer with
less frustration as most of our potential customers are not familiar
with internet shopping. So what are the possible problems. Double the
work to update prices etc. Obviously, but what else? Is there an ease
of use rating. Any real problems? Please and thank you. |
