Question ID: 420349
I want to sell this equipment and need to know it's approximate value:

1 hp 1000 E Series Computer
3 HP 12792 B 8-Channel Multiplexers
1 HP 7933 A 404 MB Fixed Disc Drive
1 HP 7970 E 1600 BPI Magnetic Tape Drive
1 HP 2629 Terminal with Thermal Printer
6 HP Display Terminals
3 HP 2622 Display Terminals
1 HP 2624 Display Terminal
2 HP 2382 Display Terminals
3 HP 12749 H High Performance Memory Modules
1 Printronix 300 LPM Printer
1 Printronix 600 LPM Printer
Controller Power Unit
Set of Manuals

This is all the info I have on it "A family of realtime computers from
HP introduced in 1966. They are
sensor-based computers used extensively in laboratory and
manufacturing environments for collecting and analyzing data."

I found that on google. I expect this equipment to be of collector
value and need to know the realistic price to set for sale.

Thanks!

You could try doing a search on eBay (or other online auctions sites).
If other people are selling similar items, the prices they are
getting is probably the best "market guide."

That's the problem, there are none listed, and none I can find sold...
that's why I'm asking for expert advice on it's worth, with some
support...

It might be hard finding anyone willing to even pick it up...
If you can however find a minimum of 2 people on this planet that really want it...
good luck

I've seen a few HP1000s sell on eBay and elsewhere for a few hundred
dollars. Complete units might go much higher to the right buyer but,
as you've probably guessed, there aren't a whole lot of folks who have
the time, space and interest for these old units.

You should also consider checking out general vintage computer
resources on the web and asking your question there. You could, for
example, post to the message board at www.vintage-computer.com.
