I have a lot of stuff I'd like to give away -- clothes, books, a
microwave, a bookshelf, a large glass/steel desk -- but I do not have
a car or really the time to rent/borrow a truck to haul all of it away
myself.
I want to find an organization that will do pick-ups, preferably a
charitable organization. I think the Salvation Army will pick up
these items but I'd really prefer to give it to an organization with
no religious ties. Goodwill is an option, I think, but I do not know
if they do pick-ups.
Therefore, my questions is, can you please provide me with a list of
non-religoius charitable organizations in the Chicago area that will
come to my home to pick up my donations?
In the alternative, though less desirable, what are non-religious
charitable organizations in the Chicago area to which I can take my
donations if I cannot arrange to have them picked up.
