Vehicle-mounted loudspeaker system for public announcements, or mobile public address system. We are looking for a mobile loudspeaker system or service that we can use to make public service announcements from a moving vehicle. A 'sound truck' or large battery-driven loudspeaker system that can be mounted on a pickup or van. The purpouse is to drive slowly through streets playing a short recorded announcement. We prefer a full system (vehicle, sound system, tape player, etc) but will consider a sound system that we can mount on our own vehicle. We need this in South-East Arizona area - Cochise County, Tuscon or even Phoenix if necessary. |

Manufacturers of police sirens and lightbars often have this sort of equipment in their range, such as the models on this page (UK site) that include PA function (optional with recorded speech) http://www.premierhazard.co.uk/sirens2.html or http://www.999supplies.com/product_info.php/cPath/82/products_id/1984? Ordinary service PA equipment for schools, political canvassing, etc, is fairly standard and can be sourced from most public address manufacturers. If you are in the US, www.radioshack.com has a 40W amp which runs on DC, stock no 32-2054, and horn speakers such as 40-1440 should be suitable (I sould suggest 2 speakers as they are fairly directional). You will also need a microphone and a connecting lead for your recorded sound source (flash memory MP3 player probably a good idea). Owain |
