Which actors are very active in the fight against AIDS. In other
words, Richard Gere heads a foundation to fight AIDS. Are there
others that do more than just lend their names?

Thanks for your question. There are several celebrities that are
active in AIDS awareness:

Sure, Bono's a star, but he's done his homework on AIDS, poverty

Andrew Shue

Elizabeth Taylor

Elton John

Danny Glover

Barbara Streisand

Sharon Stone

Morgan Fairchild

If you visit
you can see a list of celebrities that sit on the National Council of
AMFAR, The American Foundation for AIDS research. Doing a search on
their name and "AIDS" brings up a great deal of the work they do in
promoting AIDS awarenes aside from just attending functions.

Thanks for your question. If you need any additional clarification,
please let me know.

The list of actors for aids is presumably much shorter.
