Question ID: 421397
Is a handheld device available that will display current calendar time
(eg the current HH:MM:SS:##) and allow me to at the press of a button
pause the display to allow me to write the number down - then at a
press of the same or another button to display the new current time
(that's been moving on while the display is paused) - then repeat
similar again & again???

## means ideally hundredths of a second. But tenths would do.

The answer is NOT a conventional stopwatch though I'd expect it to
look similar and have good reaction time on it buttons etc. A
stopwatch starts from zero - so will give me elapsed time only. I
could add that on to the current time and use the lap timer but its
likely I'll bump start/stop and it will get ugly for my application
;-(

My application is measuring cycle times for a process that has a 5
parts current at any one time in staggered parallel formation. If I
can't find this machine I'll need 5 stopwatches ;-((

Never come across such a device but you may not be aware that it would
be dead easy to design. Sadly, I doubt we are neighbours, and a design
house would charge you $£lots. But if you know anyone with reasonable
electronic skills they are often up to a wee challenge, especially if
you crossed their palm with silver.
