I want to quote a patricular statement in a book but I do not remember the author or title. Details that I do remember are as follows: The book was a trade paperback and the author was a businessman from the East Coast (New York or possibly Washinton, DC.) He had bussiness dealing in the Caribean in the 1960's and was recruited by the CIA as a temporary informant. ( The title may be something like - " I Was a Businessman for the CIA". etc.) He was present at a pier in Santo Domingo when the first contigent of Marines landed on 28 April 1965 during the crisis in the Domiincan Republic and reported that incident in his book. He commented on the type of maps the Marines were using at the time - a gas station road map. Know it's not much to go on, but I hoping someone will be smarter and more successfull than I have. I really want the info. | |
