I attended a Bob Marley concert within no more than 2 or 3 hours
driving distance of Santa Barbara, California, in either 1975, 1976,
or 1977. It was in an amphitheatre, which makes me think it must have
been at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. He did a concert there in 1979,
but that definitely wasn't it, as I was in New Jersey then (I know, I
know). I would like to know where this concert was and the exact date,
and I would LOVE a link to a photo of it.

Here's a link to a site that purports to list Marley's concert venues
and dates for various years, including 1975-1977.  To peruse the
information for a particular year, just click on that year in the list
of years across the top of the page.  A fair number of Marley's
concerts were in California during this period.  Is one of the
concerts listed here the one you remember?

The only one listed there that it could have been is the one in
11/1975 at the County Bowl, and that date seems right to me. I would

The bad news is that I believe that a gave you a "bum steer" in my
last clarification request.  After some further research, I am sure
that the only 11/25 concert at the Santa Barbara County Bowl was in
1979, not 1975.

The good news is that there appears to have been a Marley Concert at
the County Bowl on May 31, 1976.  This concert does not appear on some
listings of Marley tour dates, probably because no tape of the concert
is available on the trading sites that publish some of the tour lists.

I think you've got it right. After my last clarification I remembered
that it was very hot that afternoon so it didn't make sense that it
was in November. May makes a lot more sense. I would still love to see

I have not found any images -- photos or DVD/VHS -- of the 1976 Marley
concert in Santa Barbara.  I will leave this question open in the hope
that another researcher can come up with one.

I have access to pictures of the Santa Barbara County Bowl in 1976.
They are all hard copies and in frames. Email me personally and I hope
to have some time to scan or take a picture for you. BTW - Marley's
last concert was not 1979 at the Bowl (as said below). I also have a
copy of the audio of the 1976 show (on CD).
