I need to know the usual course of probate in Wisconsin in a case where a house is paid off; few or no outstanding bills; with one beneficiary in the will who lives out of state; and the executor or "personal representative" lives out of state. The will states "personal representative is to serve without bond." If possible, can you give the requirements i.e. posting in newspaper; days before further action occurs and the timetable involved. The only titles that need to change are one vehicle and the title to the house. A reverse mortgage on the house will have to be paid. We need to know if it is necessary to pay it off prior to probate closing. It represents one-third of the value of the house. Thank you for any information offered. |
