This usually happens when Firefox crashes, you go to open it again, but it was actually still running in the background. Never fear, you can get back to your default profile. Just make sure that Firefox is not running (open Task Manager and 'End Process' all instances of firefox.exe). Then start the Firefox Profile Manager by going to: Start > Run > ?C:\Program Files\path\to\firefox\firefox.exe? -p Make sure you put the quotes around the file name and the -p outside the quotes. You should now be able to select your default profile (and delete your new one if you don't need it). This should solve your problem, but let me know if it doesn't. |

Actually, come to think of it, you should be able to do away with the path and simply do the following: Start > Run > firefox.exe -p Of course, if Windows can't find Firefox when you try this, use the full path. |
