I would appreciate statistics of total population and the various
religious beliefs in Brazil for the year 1975 and estimates for 2005.
By "religious beliefs" I mean the verious religions including sub
sections within Christianity and groups that would be considered
marginal. There is no need for detailed denominational statistics of
mainline protestant/evangelical groups.

Obs. You may find the site of the IBGE (Brazilian Institute for
Geography and Statistics) of use, but far be it for me to restrict
you!

From the official yearbook of Jehovahs Witnesses. Out of a total
population [2003] of 177,800,224, Brazil had 607,362 "Publishers" or
baptised members. Those who go door to door telling people about God`s
Kingdom.
At the annual "Memorial", remembering Jesus Christ`s death, there
attended a combined number of both baptised members, unbaptised
members of their families and other interested ones, of 1,563,790.
The number difference between the publishers and those attending the
Memorial , of 956,428 shows a tremendous interest in what is being
taught.
