A Mechanics Lien was filed by a sub-contractor who was not paid by the contractors hired to renovate my home. I fired the contractors after they did substandard work. The sub-contractor refused my settlement offer, said he was going to take me to court, but has not done so. I believe that to avoid court expense, he is planning on leaving the lien as it is, putting me in the position of increasing the offer or taking him to court if I want to sell my home. Once filed, does a Mechanics Lien ever expire in the State of CT? |
