Hi GA Community

I seem to have lost the top of my IE toolbar. The one with the current
web address and the back button....
This loss makes it extremely difficult for me to browse GA :(

Can anyone help me find it?

Thanks,

Steph53

Hi, Steph!

First suggestion: see if things get better when you press the F11 key.

Let me know what happens, OK?

Hi Pink,

Pressing the F11 is not an option....that does not bring back my IE
toolbar..looks more like the Netscape environment....

I have faith that you can help me:) ...*sniff*

Can you get to View > Toolbars and tell me what is checked?

Steph,

Here you can download a utility that may help. A friend of mine tried
this, and it fixed her toolbar. I haven't used it, since I have not
had a need, but I do trust the source:

Hi Pink,

Under toolbars the following is checked:
Standard
Address bar
Norton Antivirus
Yahoo tool bar

I did find the *back* button but still have no actual "address" line.

The link you gave does not download after I accepted :(

Hi Pink,

I went to the Microsoft site and did all they said. But this line has me confused:

". ClickAddress, and then drag the Address bar where you want it."

I don't have an address button under Toolbars. Just Address Bar and
that won't move :(

Silver,

Thanks, I tried your suggestion but nothing moves.

Hi Steph,

Is your toolbar locked? That may be why you can't drag anything,
including the address bar. Right click the toolbar and uncheck "Lock
the Toolbars".

Then try dragging it downwards.

Hi steph53,

Will you please clarify which of my suggestions actually worked for
you? I'm a bit confused - and wish to post the correct suggestion in
the answer box. :)

Was it "Minimize the page. On the far upper right side of your browser page
you'll see 3 boxes. First is an underline, middle has 2 overlapping
boxes, and the third has the familiar X." etc., etc.

or

"If you can see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the
name) then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it
if necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of
it, you may want to move that to a different position first."

Thanks Steph!... By the way, I'm delighted you got your address bar back.

Best regards,
tlspiegel

Hi tlspiegel...

This is the part that did it:

"If you can see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the
name) then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it
if necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of
it, you may want to move that to a different position first."

Thanks :)!!!

Hi Steph,

Well... I'm happy you found your address bar! :)

As per your request, I'm posting the answer.

If you can see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the
name) then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it
if necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of
it, you may want to move that to a different position first.

Hey Steph,

I had the same trouble once. Somehow the main window moved up just
enough to cover the explorer bar. Could not work it out for days,
until I held the arrow on the border and dragged it back down.

I hope your solution is just as simple.

Steph,

Minimize the page. On the far upper right side of your browser page
you'll see 3 boxes. First is an underline, middle has 2 overlapping
boxes, and the third has the familiar X.

Click on the middle box. That will minimize the page. At the far
bottom right you'll see the arrows to drag. Drag them as far to the
outside of your monitor screen as you can. In other words you'll have
a full browser window open.

Is the address bar there now?

Best regards,
tlspiegel

Here's some more suggestions.

If you can see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the
name) then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it
if necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of
it, you may want to move that to a different position first.

=========

Two Toolbars are sometimes overlapped within the same row. Actually,
two toolbars are overlapping. You can control the extent of the
overlap or separate the two Toolbars entirely. Position the cursor
over the raised gray line at the beginning of the second Toolbar until
it becomes a four-headed black arrow, then left-click on the raised
gray line at beginning of the second Toolbar and, holding the Left
mouse button down, move the cursor and reposition the Toolbar as you
wish.

Hi Guys,

Its very simple, you seems to be very new to IE.

The solution is like this.

On the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help)

Click on "View", then

Click on "Toolbars",
Then Choose the option "Address Bar" if you are unable to see the
option to type in the website name.

Or Choose the option "Standard Buttons" if the Back and Forward
buttons are not displayed on your IE.

Also note that the option should be on if it displays and tick mark.

Rest try it..enjoy it..

Ciao

Rgds
